Table Rock Lake
Table Rock Lake is a reservoir in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas. The lake was created in 1954 with the completion of the Table Rock Dam by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The lake has an area of 43,100 acres (174 km2) and 1,150 miles (1,850 km) of shoreline. It is the deepest lake in the Ozarks, with a maximum depth of 150 feet (46 m).
The lake is a popular recreation destination for boating, swimming, and fishing. It is home to several state parks, including Table Rock State Park in Missouri and Beaver Lake State Park in Arkansas. The lake is also a popular tourist destination, with several resorts and marinas located on its shores.
Table Rock Lake is named for Table Rock, a large rock formation that overlooks the lake. The rock formation was created by the same geological forces that created the Ozarks Plateau and is made of the same type of limestone and dolomite. The rock formation is a popular tourist destination and can be reached by hiking trails or by taking a scenic boat tour.
